There’s a new Oreo recipe that’s going viral: reducing the fat in your favorite Oreo cookies.
According to The Next World, the popular Oreo treats have been made with a special blend of “sugar, egg, and honey” to help them lose their calories and fat.
The recipe, which has been circulating on Facebook and Instagram, uses a mix of coconut oil and palm oil, which are both rich in saturated fat, to make the chocolate chip cookies.
The coconut oil, along with palm oil (which can be made from coconut oil), have a lower amount of saturated fat than traditional coconut oil (1.7 percent vs. 2.5 percent).
The other ingredients are cocoa butter, palm oil and agave nectar, which is a sweetener.
The “Sugar-free” version is not as sweet as the regular Oreo version, which will definitely make your sweet tooth go bananas, but is still a healthy alternative.
It may seem like a strange idea, but this recipe could save you money and weight in the long run.
The sweetener in the “Sulfur-free/Coconut-oil-free Oreo” recipe is also considered to be a healthier alternative to butter.
But it’s definitely not vegan, so you should definitely avoid it.
