CVS will sell its Acid Reducer as a “covid-free” option on its pharmacy shelves in the United States, the company announced on Thursday.
The company’s Acid Reduction System is the first product to be available in the U.S. under a partnership with Pharmacy Benefit Corp., a unit of Gilead Sciences Inc., the maker of Humira.
It has already been sold in Canada and in other markets, including Mexico.
The Acid Reduction System will include the same high-dose ingredients as Humira’s Acid Reduction Treatment, but the new product will not be labeled as such.
Instead, the new formula will feature “coconut oil, glycerin, and essential oils,” the company said.
It is not clear whether the new Acid Reduction Therapy formula will contain coconuts or other plant-based ingredients.
The acid reducers will be available at CVS pharmacies starting March 15.
